Hi, I’m Victoria Onorato! I work for Cox Media Group on Long Island as a production manager for 102.3 WBAB and 106.1 BLI. I also create imaging for 106.1 BLI, and I’m the midday jock on the air from 10 am-3 pm.

Being involved in “content production” allows me to be creative, use my voice, and collaborate with others! And because of my various roles with 106.1 BLI, I play a role in just about everything that hits the station’s airwaves.

I start my day at 8 am when I arrive at the station to begin voice-tracking my show. Voice-tracking is a tool we use to record shows to sound “live” on the air! Being on the air is super fun as I can talk about trends, what artists are up to, events our station has coming up, and I talk about what’s going on across Long Island. I write blogs for the station, post to social media, and during the day even run contests on the air. Once I wrap up my show via Voice tracking, I start to work on different production orders.

As a production manager, I write, voice, and produce commercials in house for both of our stations. Writing commercials isn’t as boring as you think it is. Writing commercials is great for creativity as you help a brand become a brand. It allows you to think outside the box and really figure out the best messaging for a company.

In between production orders, I work on writing and producing imaging for 106.1 BLI. Imaging consists of anything you hear on the air that isn’t the music or the radio personality talking! It ranges from: radio promotions, liners in between songs, specialty programming, and more!
Getting to be part of 106.1 BLI and 102.3 WBAB as a person who grew up on Long Island is a dream come true! As a kid, I always listened to music and found myself drawn to the creative. Diving deeper into audio truly helped me find my passion which is working for a radio station.
