Nicole Todd
Digital Content Operations Manager

While I work for a radio company, Townsquare Media, my role allows me to work at home, doing digital. I am a Digital Content Operations Manager who helps manage daily tasks for around 20 markets across the Northeast and Midwest, assisting in editing their station websites and social media accounts and helping the sites stay full of recurring and new content that fits their brand/region/state for entertainment/news/lifestyle.

I start my day at 8 a.m. by checking my emails and then going to my assigned tasks that are submitted from the 20 markets I work with. Some of these tasks in my queue can be requests to edit a widget on a station homepage, schedule a post to Facebook, help track pageviews on an article in Google Analytics, or create a local custom contest for a market.

I will work 1:1 with the markets' Digital Managing Editor to hear from them directly on items they need help with on a daily/weekly basis and how to help their markets with scheduling content on our station's mobile apps and social channels. While I do not work physically in a specific market, I still need to be aware of current events/weather events in each of my markets so the content that I am scheduling does not contradict what the local radio talent is writing in that market.

Something I help with regularly is contesting! This is one of the most fun parts of my job because it gives me a chance to be creative. During a national contest in which a station's format is participating, I will work daily with my team to schedule mobile app alerts for that particular contest; ensuring that their audience is aware of the giveaway via a direct message from our app.  My team and I will also work on updating all the brands' websites associated with that giveaway; pinning the contest to the top and front of the homepage. Sometimes a station will have a local contest. I will chat on teams with the Account Executive who sold the sponsorship, and I will work on creating graphics in Canva Pro so that that website page with the contest has all the digital assets that were sold. This will include the client's logo, a description of the client, and the name of the sponsorship.  This will "live" on that contest page for the duration of the contest length. If the market needs it, I will create the physical contest that will ask the audience for their information and will also write the article that that audience will read.

On a non-contesting day, I spend my time working ahead on scheduling region-wide content on my brand's stations that need weekend content, schedule stations' email newsletter blasts, and adjust them based on what is trending on Google Analytics/past content that performed well within the region at a different market.

Though being a Digital Content Ops Manager has me tied to my computer all day, I find it to be an exciting job and entertaining to see the content you write/edit/schedule perform well on a station in a market. No day is the same when you work in any facet of radio/content production.
