On-Air Personality
"A day in my life begins rather early. I am and always have been a morning person, so I find I accomplish things most efficiently in the morning. I wake up at 5 am, and I usually get a workout in with my trainer most days. Then, my first stop in the radio world is my home studio. I walk downstairs and voice track a number of radio stations across the country in various formats. I do country, Top 40, and more. The great thing about this portion of my day is that it is built in show prep. I am recording shows and researching the local news in the various markets I work in remotely. I go back upstairs, get breakfast, and start the "in-person" part of my day.
If it is during the school year, I teach radio at Orange County Community College. This is a great way to find new talent and turn college kids on to the broadcasting business. Then, I got to the "mothership" K104 for my daily afternoon drive show. When I arrive at the station, I record for other markets in the company. I also handle the on-air imaging for K104, so I produce sweepers/promos and any other production needs. I will check in with my Program Director and Promo director for any up-to-the-minute info that I may need to know. Before I go on the air, I do some social media posts and blog posts to support our online effort. AND THEN...it is finally time for the highlight of my day, which is my live PM Drive radio show. I have been on K104 in the afternoons for over 25 years and love the relationship I have formed with listeners and advertisers. I live, work, and play in the Hudson Valley and love being part of the shared experience of being a piece of someone's day. Rinse and repeat for tomorrow! I am blessed to love what I do for a living and don't plan on stopping."
